Bipolar Transurethral Prostate Resection

Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) or bipolar resection of the prostate is an advanced procedure that involves the removal of the prostate adenoma using instruments introduced through the urethra, without the need for incisions in the skin. This method allows the adenoma to be removed in small fragments, ensuring a faster and less invasive recovery.

After surgery, postoperative management may be outpatient or inpatient, depending on the patient’s clinical evolution, during which a temporary bladder catheter is placed.

At CDU, we use a bipolar technique that quickly and accurately removes the enlarged prostate tissue. Most patients can return home a few hours after prostate surgery and resume normal activities within a few days, avoiding significant efforts.

If your doctor has recommended bipolar TURP of the prostate or you would like more information about this procedure, do not hesitate to contact us. We are committed to providing you with the best specialized care to improve your prostate health and quality of life.
